Frequently Asked Questions
Is it normal for the foam to be sticky?
Yes. The foam is made a tiny bit larger than the goggle frame so that it can contour and adapt to your face. Although we tuck in any extra foam, sometimes in shipment it comes loose from the frame.
What is the little bottle in my package?
As a thank you for being our customer, we enclose a free bottle of defogger.
What is the difference between the silicone and latex strap?
The latex strap is generally more comfortable as it does not pull hair and is easier to get adjust in the clips. The silicone strap tends to pull hair, but it will last longer than the latex. The silicone is a little thicker which can make adjusting the strap a little more difficult as it is harder to feed through the clips.
How do I adjust the nose piece?
To adjust the nose piece, put the short arm of the hex key into the screw. While pressing gently down on the foam at the screw, slowly turn the hex key making sure no foam is getting twisted. Loosen only enough to get the nose piece out. No need to completely remove the screw. Once the nose piece is out, replace with the size you prefer. We build the goggles with the middle size and include a small and larger size for your use. Put the nose piece back in place and again, while pressing gently on the foam and using the short end of the hex key, tighten the screw. Be careful not to over tighten as the screw can go through the nose piece. Tighten the screw just enough to where you cannot pull the nose piece out.
I bought a repair kit to replace the foam, how do I clean the goggle frame?
To clean the goggle frame, make sure all the adhesive is off then put some rubbing alcohol on a cotton swab or piece of gauze and wipe down the frame. Please note: Do NOT use acetone to clean, it will damage the plastic. Do NOT put any oily substance (i.e. petroleum jelly, suntan oil, other lotions) on the frame as the foam will eventually absorb the oily substance making it almost for the adhesive to adhere to the frame.
I don’t need the entire repair kit. Is it possible to order individual parts?
Yes, we can provide individual parts i.e. lost screw, new hex key, etc. Just send us an email at Skyline@skylinenw.com and let us know what you need
Does the goggle come with defogger on it?
Yes, all our goggles come with defogger on the lenses. We do not recommend anyone spitting in or licking the lens as it can interfere with the defogger that is already on the lens.
Do the goggles have UV protection on them?
Yes, our goggles do have UV protection.
